About me

Hello! My name is Amarillys Velasquez, (she/they), and I am a Cinematographer working in Los Angeles and Chicago. 

I obtained my BFA from Depaul University with a concentration in Cinematography. I work most in horror, experimental, and crime narrative film, which allow me to exercise expressive and challenging lighting and compositional techniques.

As a DoP, I aim to approach every story with a strong creative vision and proficiency. I work to translate and heighten the vision of the director and allow insight into how to use cinematography to make the audience FEEL more deeply.

With outside-of-the-box execution, passion, and a good attitude, we can create new techniques and more captivating films together!
